The name Colquhoun has been synonymous with architectural ironmongery since 1928, when the original company was incorporated. Mr Colquhoun originally traded from premises at Blythswood Street in Glasgow city centre where he and his staff built a reputation for unrivalled product knowledge and customer service. Since the 1950’s the company has been operated by 3 generations of the Gregan family with the current MD, Michael Gregan, enjoying his 30th year in the business in 2019. Since inception, Colquhoun’s have maintained high levels of customer service and become highly regarded amongst a wide range of clients throughout the country in need of quality products, expertise and, most importantly, an unrivalled standard of customer service.
The History of Colquhoun's
In 2005, Colquhoun’s acquired a domestic timber door manufacturer which, along with an already thriving high-end retail client base, led us into commercial projects for hotels, education, health and local authority sectors. We have also created a unique architectural hardware and timber door showroom at our premises in Glasgow, displaying a comprehensive range of fully functional doors and door sets. Our showroom in Glasgow and offices at Great Portland Street in central London, are utilised by architects, developers, interior designers and contractors alike.
Colquhoun’s services clients across the UK in a diverse range of projects from complex health department work to bespoke high-end residential joinery solutions. Since the company’s incorporation in 1928, one thing remains unchanged – our commitment to providing the highest standards of product, technical knowledge and customer service. This is what you can expect from almost 100 years of experience being passed down through the generations.
When you buy from us you will see it is these values that position Colquhoun’s as the leading business in our field. Whether specifying for a client or choosing for yourself, we hope you find inspiration in our website and of course, if you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
